THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — A Southern California man is once again facing criminal charges after allegedly posing as a doctor and treating patients without a valid medical license, despite already being out on bail for the same offense.
Nitun “Nate” Dayalghai Ahir, 44, was arraigned in Ventura County for practicing medicine without a license at Regen Spine & Nerve, a business located in Ventura. According to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, Ahir resumed treating patients just days after being arrested for impersonating a medical professional last month.
Ahir was explicitly prohibited from performing or offering any medical services, receiving payments, or interacting with patients as a condition of his release. Authorities allege he ignored those terms and violated court orders by returning to the business and continuing to act as a physician.
The California Department of Consumer Affairs confirmed Ahir holds no valid medical license — not as a doctor, nurse, chiropractor, or in any other healthcare profession — in California or any other state.
In addition to the original charges, Ahir now faces new allegations including:
Practicing medicine without a license
Misuse of the title “Doctor” and “Dr.”
Identity theft
Theft from an elderly or dependent adult
Prosecutors say the charges come with special circumstances, highlighting that Ahir targeted vulnerable individuals through a deliberate, deceptive scheme that breached the trust of patients seeking legitimate medical care.
Ahir, who previously posted $50,000 bail, has been released from custody again and is scheduled to return to court on June 25.
