The K.G. Chavadi police have arrested three men from Kasaragod district, Kerala, for their alleged involvement in a high-value highway robbery. N. Nithin (33) of Cheruvathur, Sreekumar M.V. (31) of Neeleswaram, and K. Sudheesh (39) of Pallikkara were taken into custody on Saturday.
The trio is accused of robbing a goldsmith of rS41 lakh on February 19 while he was traveling on the Salem–Kochi Highway. After the arrests, the suspects were brought to Coimbatore and produced before the Judicial Magistrate in Madukkarai on Sunday. The magistrate subsequently remanded all three to judicial custody.
Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine if the accused have links to other similar crimes in the region.
