Nishan, Surindar, Lovely Booked in Rs6L Migration Fraud

Shahkot Trio Accused of Duping Man Over Son's Travel

by Ananya Mehta

The Shahkot police have registered a case against three travel agents for allegedly defrauding a local villager of Rs6 lakh under the pretext of sending his son abroad.

According to the complaint filed by Harjinder Singh, a resident of Bajwa Kalan village, he had paid the money to the accused—Nishan, Surindar Kumar, and Lovely—all residents of Employees Colony in Shahkot. Singh said the trio had assured him that they would arrange for his son’s migration overseas.

However, after receiving the payment, neither was any arrangement made nor was the money returned, prompting Singh to approach the authorities.

Based on his complaint, the police have booked the three accused under relevant legal sections, and further investigation is underway.
