Nine Arrested in Stratford Drug Bust After Search of Home

Police Seize Heroin, Fentanyl, and Drug Paraphernalia at Kasper Drive Residence

by Sophia Bennett

Stratford, Conn. — Nine people were arrested on various drug-related charges after a search warrant was executed at a home on Kasper Drive on Thursday, police said. The raid uncovered a range of illegal substances and materials, including heroin, fentanyl, loaded syringes, and drug paraphernalia, all in plain view.

Investigation Leads to Drug Factory Discovery
The investigation began in October 2024 after local residents raised concerns about suspicious activity at the home. Neighbors reported a high volume of car and foot traffic at all hours, with some describing “hand-to-hand” drug transactions. Further complaints included noise from an illegal auto repair shop and a junkyard operating on the property, which was reportedly disturbing the neighborhood.

Officers found that narcotics customers were regularly entering and exiting the residence and using drugs in the vicinity. The search led to the discovery of an illegal drug manufacturing operation inside the home.

Arrests and Charges
Among those arrested was 28-year-old Joseph Villafane, who attempted to flee during the search but was apprehended after being bitten by a K9. Villafane faces charges including illegal operation of a drug factory, possession of narcotics, and interfering with police.

Other arrested individuals include:

Jessica Villafane (47) – Charged with illegal operation of a drug factory and narcotic possession.
Alberto Otero (54) – Charged with illegal operation of a drug factory and narcotics possession.
Phillip Lacharite (46) – Charged with operating a repair business and junkyard in addition to drug-related charges.
Carey Accavallo (48) – Wanted for failure to appear and charged with drug-related offenses.
Jessica Luna (35) – Also wanted for disorderly conduct and charged with drug factory-related offenses.
Amanda Gregory (39) – Charged with illegal operation of a drug factory and possession of narcotics.
Christopher Goings (47) – A convicted felon charged with drug factory operation and possession, also wanted by police for failure to appear.
Garfield Howell (35) – Charged with operating a drug factory and narcotics possession.
All suspects have been scheduled for a court hearing on February 6, 2025.

Ongoing Investigation
The police continue to investigate the full extent of the drug operation and are working to track down any additional individuals involved in the illegal activities at the home. The case highlights the importance of community vigilance and police efforts to combat drug-related crimes in local neighborhoods.
