Clash between rival groups leads to fatal killings

by Ananya Mehta

Nine people, including a juvenile, have been arrested in connection with a double murder near Pallavaram on Monday morning, police said.

The victims, N Arumugam (20) and Satheesh (18), were found murdered inside their home in Tirusulam. Investigations revealed the killings were the result of a previous enmity between two groups.

The arrested individuals are: Srihari (22), Prasad (20), Saran (25), Vijay (20), Abinash (20), Bhuvanesh (25), Surya (23), and two 17-year-old juveniles.

Police said tensions escalated after Arumugham and his friends allegedly damaged property at Deepak’s house, prompting retaliatory action. Although four suspects were initially arrested, Arumugam remained at large until Monday, when he and Satheesh were killed. Two key suspects, including Deepak, are still absconding.

Authorities have formed special teams to track the remaining suspects, and the investigation is ongoing.
