In a shocking case of murder and abduction, the police in Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Subansiri district have arrested nine individuals connected to the kidnapping and death of Sanjay Nath. The incident was reported on September 1, following a zero FIR received at the Daporijo police station. According to the FIR, Sanjay was kidnapped near Subansiri bridge by 4-5 individuals. The complainant, his father, suspected one Tabu Doni to be behind the crime.
A special investigation team led by DySP Gamli Loyi was formed, and after relentless efforts, the police were led to a grave around seven kilometers from Daporijo. Upon exhuming the body, it was confirmed that the deceased was indeed Sanjay Nath.
Through further investigation, it was revealed that Sanjay owed Rs 2.30 lakh to Tabu Doni, and his evasion of the debt led to the kidnapping. On August 22, four men, including Yachak Rai, Tasis Bagh, Anand Rao, and Kamki Lusi, abducted Nath and brought him to Doni’s house in Daporijo. There, Sanjay was brutally beaten, and his death followed. The accused then disposed of the body by burying it in a secluded area by the Subansiri River.
The police arrested several individuals for abduction and murder, including Tabu Doni (46), Jeke Marbom (43), and Tai alias Nimar Lamdik. The investigation continues as police work to uncover the full scope of the crime.
