In a case of legal deception, a 30-year-old man from Shewalwadi, Nilesh Maruti Kanhere, has reportedly lost Rs4.5 lakh after being duped by two individuals who falsely promised him a favourable court stay order.

The accused, identified as Alok Adsul and Parag Gosavi, allegedly conspired to convince Kanhere that they could secure a beneficial legal stay in his favour. Believing their claims, Kanhere handed over Rs4.5 lakh in instalments.

However, after seeing no progress and suspecting foul play, Kanhere approached the Hadapsar police, where a case has been registered against the duo. The police are now investigating the matter under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Officials have advised citizens to remain cautious and verify the credentials of anyone claiming to influence legal proceedings.
