In a major drug bust in Vasai, the Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar Police Commissionerate’s Crime Branch Unit-2, led by PI Sameer Ahirrao and his team, successfully raided an apartment and arrested two Nigerian nationals involved in drug trafficking.
The raid took place at Mahesh Apartment, located on the 3rd floor in the Vasai Evershine City area. During the operation, police discovered 48 grams of cocaine, which led to the arrest of Victor Odichinma Omuwala, also known as Daik Raymond (37), a Nigerian national. The authorities seized the drugs and found additional evidence that pointed to further illegal activities.
Upon searching the flat, the police also discovered a fake passport and a key to a flat on the 4th floor of the same building. After entering that flat, the team found 22.865 grams of MD drugs and another Nigerian national’s passport, identified as Igwenuba Chimaobi, who is currently being sought by the police for further investigation.
In total, the seized narcotics have an estimated value of Rs11.58 crore, and the police have filed a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and related sections for drug trafficking. This raid is part of the ongoing efforts to combat the growing issue of drug trafficking in the region.
The MBVV Crime Branch has confirmed that the investigation is still ongoing, and they are working to dismantle the larger drug cartel involved in this network.
