The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) has arrested two Nigerian nationals, Aful Clement David (29) and Lazarus Chinwenmeri Favour (19), who were residing in India illegally with expired visas. Authorities initiated deportation procedures to prevent their involvement in activities harmful to national security.
David was previously arrested in 2022 by Manimajra Police in Chandigarh on cheating charges and served six months in Model Jail, Chandigarh. After release, he lived in Delhi without employment. In July 2025, he moved to Bangalore to supply drugs alongside Lazarus, who had come to India on a student visa to pursue Science and Technology but deviated from his studies to associate with drug peddlers.
The Hyderabad DCP of Task Force/HNEW confirmed that, in coordination with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), David’s visa had expired in 2019, making his stay illegal. Both were involved with drug offenders and posed a risk of continuing illicit activities.
The HNEW team has begun the process to deport them to their native Nigeria and will continue to work with the FRRO to ensure their swift removal from India.
