In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) on Sunday arrested Emmanuel Bediako, also known as Maxwell, a 34-year-old Nigerian national, from Sainikpuri.
Officials seized 150 grams of high-purity cocaine — popularly dubbed ‘celebrity cocaine’ — along with 1,100 ecstasy pills. The combined street value of the seizure is estimated at Rs1.25 crore, according to TGANB Director Sandeep Shandilya.
Bediako is reportedly linked to a West African drug cartel operating across India. The arrest is part of a broader investigation into international drug networks targeting metro cities.
Further investigations are underway to uncover the cartel’s local connections and distribution networks.
