Navi Mumbai police conducted a major drug bust, seizing a significant quantity of mephedrone and MDMA with an estimated street value of over Rs21 lakh. The operation led to the arrest of a foreign national, identified as Nigerian citizen Aniehe Kingsley Chinedu.
The seizure occurred on December 15, when a police patrol near Palm Beach Road noticed a suspicious individual near a scooter. The suspect fled, abandoning the vehicle. Upon inspection, officers recovered approximately 70 grams of mephedrone and 120 MDMA tablets.Rs
Following leads from the initial seizure, police raided Chinedu’s residence in Koparkhairane, uncovering additional drugs valued at Rs4 lakh. He has been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Police investigations continue to determine the extent of Chinedu’s involvement in the narcotics network.
