Nicole Ciaccio Charged After Wine Theft, Feces Assault

Springfield woman also found with drug paraphernalia

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS) — A woman is facing multiple charges after a chaotic incident at a County Market grocery store on E. Carpenter Street, where officers responded to a disturbance involving alleged theft and assault.

According to authorities, Nicole Ciaccio attempted to steal two bottles of wine from the store. When a security officer confronted her at the exit, Ciaccio allegedly spat at the officer and threw feces in his direction.

Officers quickly arrived on the scene and took Ciaccio into custody. During her booking process, police discovered drug paraphernalia hidden in her clothing.

Ciaccio now faces several charges, including retail theft, assault, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Further details on her court appearance or bond were not immediately available.
