WACO, Texas — Nichole Ann Green, a Waco woman, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to felony murder in connection with the death of her 8-month-old child, according to the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office.
Green was arrested in December 2023 following the October death of her infant, who was found unresponsive in bed alongside her. An autopsy later confirmed that the baby died from the toxic effects of methamphetamine exposure.
Green entered her guilty plea on May 1, 2025, in the 54th District Court. Though she will be eligible for parole after serving 20 years, prosecutors believe parole is unlikely.
The DA’s office described Green as both a user and distributor of methamphetamine. Assistant District Attorney Will Hix stated, “While this innocent child’s death was unintentional, this Defendant’s actions demanded a severe penalty. Nichole Green’s irresponsibility and her insistence on participating in the delivery of illegal narcotics caused the death of her child.”
According to an arrest affidavit, officers from the Waco Police Department responded to the scene on October 12, 2023, where they found drug-related materials including packaging, scales, and hidden compartments commonly used in narcotics distribution. Confidential informants later tipped authorities to search for methamphetamine, as Green was known to possess ounces of the drug at the time.
Court records also indicate Green had a history of drug abuse, including a prior car accident while under the influence of meth.
Green remains in custody, serving her sentence at a Texas state prison.
