Nicholas Bollinger, Emily Clawson Arrested in Drug Bust

Valdese pair charged with trafficking fentanyl, cocaine, meth

VALDESE, NC — Two Burke County residents were arrested Friday, July 11, following a narcotics investigation that led to the discovery of multiple drugs and firearms at a home on Leger Road in Valdese.

Nicholas Eugene Bollinger, 33, and Emily Jane Clawson, 32, both residing at the same address, were taken into custody by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. Each faces felony charges of:

Trafficking in opium or heroin

Possession of methamphetamine

Possession of cocaine

The arrests followed a search of the residence, during which deputies seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and multiple firearms—including one that was confirmed to be stolen.

Both suspects were booked into the Burke County Jail and are being held without bond. They were scheduled for their first court appearance in District Court on Monday, July 14.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as evidence is processed.
