SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — Authorities have arrested two of three alleged members of a retail theft ring suspected of stealing tens of thousands of dollars in merchandise from stores across the Bay Area, particularly Ulta Beauty locations.
According to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, the group is believed to be responsible for at least 35 thefts, including more than $45,000 in stolen beauty products. The thefts took place at stores in Campbell, Cupertino, San Jose, and Sunnyvale, with additional incidents reported at Target and Home Depot stores throughout California — from Placer County down to Monterey County.
A search of a San Jose home linked to the suspects revealed a large cache of stolen cosmetics, perfumes, sunglasses, and tools. Authorities also discovered suspected ecstasy, drug paraphernalia, and nearly $1,500 in cash.
Arrested in the case are:
Nicholas Beltran, 25, who faces multiple counts of grand theft and organized retail theft. Deputies say he has a prior burglary conviction.
Maria Figueroa, 19, who faces several counts of organized retail theft.
A third suspect remains at large, authorities said Monday.
The arrests were made by the Sheriff’s Retail Theft Task Force in coordination with the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office. Officials emphasized their continued commitment to cracking down on organized retail theft rings targeting regional businesses.
Anyone with information about the third suspect is encouraged to contact the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.
