CANANDAIGUA, NY – A 48-year-old woman is facing serious charges after allegedly using stolen identity information to rent an apartment and failing to pay rent.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Nichelle Beale is accused of using someone else’s identity to secure a lease at Candlewood Apartments from May 1 to August 13, 2025.
Deputies say Beale never paid rent or utility costs, resulting in over $6,000 in unpaid services.
She was arrested and charged with identity theft in the first degree and is currently being held at the Ontario County Jail.
No further details about the victim or how the identity was obtained have been released.
