Washington County, NY — 46-year-old Manuel Cruz of New York City has been arrested following a Grand Jury indictment on charges of criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance, announced Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrest followed an investigation conducted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit. Authorities say Cruz was involved in selling narcotics, and this arrest is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
Cruz is currently on parole for previous narcotics sales in Washington County, under supervision by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
He was arraigned on February 26, 2025, in Washington County Court and is being held at the Washington County Correctional Facility pending future court appearances.
