SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) — A New Orleans woman, Monique Sandifer, is currently behind bars in the Santa Rosa County Jail, facing multiple charges after being accused of a multi-state crime spree involving the theft of thousands of dollars’ worth of fragrances.
Investigators say Sandifer was part of a shoplifting ring that targeted Ulta Beauty stores across Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, and Florida, stealing more than $77,000 in fragrances.
Court documents reveal that Sandifer, along with others, stole the goods and later attempted to sell them on her social media accounts. This online activity led authorities to track her down as one of the primary suspects. Sandifer now faces several charges, including organized dealing of stolen property, eluding, and larceny, according to jail records.
The thefts began in 2022, and after further investigation, it was revealed that one of Sandifer’s alleged accomplices, Andrelle Weaver, was arrested in December 2022. Weaver, like Sandifer, was charged with stealing fragrances from Ulta Beauty stores along the Gulf Coast. Court records show that in December 2023, Weaver was convicted of organized dealing of property and resisting an officer. She was placed on probation and ordered to pay restitution to Ulta Beauty through monthly payments. Additionally, Weaver was banned from having contact with Ulta Beauty stores.
Weaver was released from the Santa Rosa County Jail in January 2024.
Meanwhile, Sandifer’s court date is set for December 19, where she will face the charges stemming from her role in the theft spree.
