A New Hampshire woman has been charged with second-degree murder following the tragic death of her spouse over the weekend. Reya Jasmin, 36, was arrested after the death of her wife, Margaret Jasmin, 39, who was found dead at their Plaistow residence on Sunday, May 18.
The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office reported that Plaistow police responded to a 911 call around 6 a.m. Sunday. Upon arriving at the home on Old County Road, officers discovered Margaret Jasmin lying on the ground, having suffered what appeared to be a stab wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Upon further investigation, police found Reya Jasmin inside the home, suffering from several injuries. She was transported to a nearby hospital, and though her injuries appeared serious, she is expected to survive. The couple’s child, who was also living in the home, was unharmed and is currently safe.
