BAXTER COUNTY, Ark. – A Marion County woman is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly stealing items, including a VA disability check, from a former roommate’s home in Baxter County.

34-year-old Neoskaleta Amber Lynn Elliott, also known as Amber Elliott, of Yellville, has been charged with residential burglary, forgery, and theft of property, all felonies.

According to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the victim is currently incarcerated at the Baxter County Detention Center. Elliott had previously lived with him in a platonic relationship, but had moved out last fall and was instructed not to return.

While visiting her son’s home—where the victim also resided—the victim’s mother noticed a window air conditioner was missing. After speaking with her son, the family discovered that a VA disability check, a computer, Beats headphones, vehicle titles, motorcycle helmets, clothing, and other miscellaneous items had also been taken.

The victim further reported that $942 in VA benefits had been in his bank account, but when checked, it had a balance of just 29 cents.

Recorded phone calls revealed that Elliott had agreed to return the stolen property and deposit the funds into the victim’s commissary account but failed to do so.

Elliott was arrested and later released on a $25,000 bond.

She has a criminal history with five previous felony arrests in Arkansas dating back to 2014, including charges for theft, forgery, possession of drug paraphernalia, and more.
