In a significant step toward curbing street-level drug trafficking, Kardhani police arrested Nemi Singh Kumhar (45) for allegedly supplying drugs to students and youth in areas surrounding educational institutions.

The arrest occurred during a routine anti-narcotics operation in Jaipur’s West district. Acting on a tip-off, officers stopped Kumhar, who was loitering suspiciously near the 7 Number Bus Stand in Kardhani. A personal search led to the recovery of 7.14 grams of smack from his possession.

Kumhar, a resident of Kacchi Basti near Niwaru Link Road, confessed during interrogation that he had been selling smack for an extended period, with students being a key part of his clientele.

An FIR was registered under the NDPS Act, and the seized contraband has been sent for forensic analysis. Police are actively probing the supply chain to trace the source of the drugs and identify others involved.

Authorities have now increased surveillance near schools, colleges, and coaching centers in the area to prevent further instances of student-targeted drug peddling.
