Nehemiah Tillman Arrested After Shreveport Shooting, Home Invasion

Gunfire exchanged during altercation; second suspect identified

SHREVEPORT, La. – Police have arrested Nehemiah Tillman following a violent early morning shooting and home invasion incident in Shreveport.

Around 4 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 5100 block of Monkhouse Drive. According to police, Tillman fired at a bystander who attempted to intervene in a physical altercation involving another suspect. Shortly after, the two suspects exchanged gunfire with one another.

Tillman was shot in the hand during the exchange and was taken into custody at the scene.

Investigators later connected the suspects to a home invasion that occurred the previous night in the 2700 block of Amherst Street. Authorities say the same individuals were involved in both incidents.

Tillman now faces multiple charges, including:

One count of home invasion

One count of aggravated assault with a firearm

One count of illegal use of a firearm

Police have identified a second suspect, though his name has not been released pending confirmation. Charges are expected to follow.
