The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made significant drug busts in Rivers and Nasarawa states during operations in February 2025. On February 20, at the Port Harcourt Port Complex, Onne, Rivers State, NDLEA officers, working in collaboration with the Nigeria Customs Service and other security agencies, intercepted a shipment containing 49 cartons with 49,000 pills of Tamil, a brand of tramadol 225mg. The drugs were found in a 40ft container during a joint examination.

In Nasarawa State, NDLEA operatives arrested two suspects, Bello Adamu, 40, and Pius Azuka, 42, on February 22, with 517 kg of skunk at Kokona/Keffi. Additionally, two more suspects, Usman Ruwa, 43, and Yunusa Haruna, 45, were apprehended in Niger State on February 20 while traveling in a Toyota Corolla car carrying 62.7 kilograms of skunk along Sabon Asibiti road, Kontagora.

These drug busts highlight the ongoing efforts by the NDLEA to combat drug trafficking in Nigeria. The agency continues its crackdown on illicit substances and the individuals behind their distribution.
