OXFORD, UK / INDIANAPOLIS, IN — In separate high-profile drug cases on both sides of the Atlantic, Nderim Hasi, 30, of Oxford, and Andrea Burnett, 39, of Indianapolis, have each faced legal consequences for their alleged involvement in narcotics and related crimes.
Nderim Hasi Jailed in Oxford
On April 29, Hasi was sentenced to four years in prison at Oxford Crown Court after being convicted in March for multiple drug and financial offenses. Hasi, of Hillsborough Road, was found guilty of:
Possession of Class B drug (cannabis)
Possession of Class A drugs (cocaine and ketamine)
Possession of criminal property (a quantity of cash)
The conviction followed a police raid in which officers found £50,000 worth of cannabis, smaller amounts of cocaine and ketamine, and over £4,500 in cash at a property he had recently moved into. Hasi absconded on the penultimate day of his trial but was sentenced in absentia.
Andrea Burnett Arrested in Indianapolis
Meanwhile, in Indianapolis, Andrea Burnett was arrested on April 25 after a SWAT raid at her home near Pendleton Pike and North Post Road. Authorities executed a search warrant and uncovered:
4 handguns
7 grams of methamphetamine
10 grams of marijuana
$650 in cash
Burnett, who was wanted on two active warrants in Marion County for auto theft and narcotics possession, now faces additional charges including possession of meth, unlawful handgun possession, and possession of paraphernalia. She remains in custody without bond, with a jury trial scheduled for July 21.
Both cases underscore law enforcement’s ongoing efforts to clamp down on drug distribution, illegal firearms possession, and repeat offenders.
