In a successful operation, Phase-8 Police in Mohali have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 47 grams of heroin from their possession. The arrested individuals have been identified as:
Navjot Singh, a resident of Nilokheri, Karnal district, Haryana
Pradeep Singh, a resident of Nanu Majra village, under Sohana police station, Mohali
According to Assistant Sub-Inspector Bhupinder Singh, the arrests were made following a secret tip-off. The police team intercepted the accused near Fortis Hospital, Phase-8, Mohali, before they could deliver the drugs.
“I was on patrol duty with my team near Fortis Hospital when we received credible information that two habitual drug suppliers were en route to deliver heroin at the old bus stand,” said ASI Bhupinder Singh.
Acting swiftly, the police set up a checkpoint and arrested both suspects. 47 grams of heroin was found during the search. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at Phase-8 Police Station.
The police have launched a further investigation to trace the source of the drugs and uncover the network of buyers and suppliers involved.
