The Rabale MIDC Police in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, conducted a major drug bust after raiding a residence in Digha’s Ishwar Nagar, seizing 252 grams of MD (Mephedrone) powder valued at approximately Rs 75 lakh, officials said.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of three officers along with 20 constables raided the house at 8 am on Sunday. The suspects, Shantabai and her son-in-law, were allegedly running an illegal drug sales operation from the premises.
During the search, police recovered MD powder, a weighing scale, and 250 plastic packets used for narcotics packaging. Four suspects—Nilesh Basanna Naik, Shailesh Basanna Naik, Usha Roshan Naik, and Jyoti Nilesh Naik—all residents of Airoli, Navi Mumbai, were arrested and taken into custody.
Two other accused, Roshan Basanna Naik and Shantabai, remain absconding. The suspects have prior arrests connected to narcotics cases registered with Rabale, Rabale MIDC, and Pantnagar police stations under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
The Rabale MIDC Police are continuing the investigation and tracing the drug supply chain.
