Navi Mumbai police have successfully arrested Ashraf Alam Sheikh (21) and Ramzan Abdulmatin Sheikh (22) in connection with a series of vehicle thefts in the region. The two were involved in at least 17 theft cases, primarily targeting autorickshaws and two-wheelers across various locations, including CBD Belapur, Kharghar, Kalamboli, NRI (Ulve), Panvel Town, Vashi, Nehru Nagar, Bandra, Panth Nagar, and Khar police station jurisdictions.
According to Pankaj Dahane, Deputy Commissioner of Police for Zone-I Vashi, the accused were implicated in a series of thefts spanning multiple areas. The police recovered 12 stolen vehicles, with a total estimated value of Rs20.45 lakh, from the possession of the arrested individuals.
Dahane confirmed that the police conducted a thorough investigation by reviewing 55 CCTV footage recordings to identify the perpetrators. After careful analysis, the detectives narrowed down the suspects to the two arrested individuals. The police are continuing their investigation to uncover any additional criminal activities linked to the duo.
