Navi Mumbai Man Hires Contract Killers to Murder Wife Over Money

Six Arrested in Brutal Contract Killing of Chemist Alvina Khan

by Ananya Mehta

A disturbing case of contract killing has come to light in Navi Mumbai, where a man allegedly paid Rs 6 lakh to hire contract killers to murder his wife over a financial dispute. Authorities have arrested six individuals, including three from Navi Mumbai and two contract killers from Noida.

The victim, 27-year-old chemist Alvina Kishorsingh Rajput, also known as Alvina Adamali Khan, was murdered on May 18 just 50 metres from her home. A masked assailant slit her throat as she was returning home at night, causing her to collapse and bleed to death on the spot.

Alvina and her husband, Kishorsingh Rajput, married in 2021 and co-owned a medical store. However, their marriage deteriorated due to financial disagreements. Alvina had invested Rs 15 lakh in their business and demanded repayment before agreeing to a divorce, a condition Rajput was unwilling or unable to fulfill.

According to Ajay Kumar Landge, Additional Commissioner of Police, Rajput feared that even after repaying the money, he would not get a divorce and thus plotted the murder.

Rajput allegedly approached Alisha Tyagi, a salon owner from Uttar Pradesh, who agreed to assist in the murder plan for Rs 6 lakh. Tyagi received Rs 5 lakh in advance and enlisted her maid, Charanjit Kaur (alias Dimple), to connect with two contract killers from Punjab.

The Navi Mumbai Crime Branch arrested Rajput, Tyagi, and Kaur and transferred them to Ulwe police custody, with custody extended until May 27.

The two Punjab-based contract killers, cousins Sukhpreet Singh and Gurpreet Singh, were apprehended by the Noida Special Task Force on May 24. Sukhpreet admitted they moved to Mumbai in 2022, met Tyagi, and accepted the contract. He confessed to ordering the murder weapon online and executing the killing with Gurpreet after surveilling the victim’s routine.

The contract killers have been handed over to local authorities for further inquiry. Police continue to investigate Tyagi’s salon business and her deeper involvement in the conspiracy.
