WEBSTER — A 23-year-old Webster man, Nathan Ryan, was arrested early Sunday morning after leading police on a high-speed chase through both Webster and Dudley. The pursuit began around 2:30 a.m. when Officer Shane Murray of the Webster Police Department noticed a vehicle speeding at 57 mph in a 30 mph zone.

When Officer Murray attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver, later identified as Nathan Ryan, sped off and turned onto North Main Street, continuing to accelerate. Officer Murray lost sight of the vehicle momentarily but quickly found it again near Cemetery Road in Dudley. The driver then turned off the vehicle’s lights and continued speeding through Dudley at over 70 mph, nearly colliding with a Dudley Police cruiser during the chase.

The pursuit ended when officers from both the Webster and Dudley police departments stopped the vehicle on West Main Street in Dudley. Ryan initially failed to comply with police commands but was eventually arrested. Signs of intoxication were observed, and he was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, failure to stop for police, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, and several other traffic violations.
