NEW BERN, N.C. — Two men connected to a deadly shooting in New Bern have been arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service, according to the New Bern Police Department.
Authorities had been searching for Nasir Robbins and Taquandre Cherry in connection with two shootings that occurred last week. In the first incident, gunfire was exchanged between two vehicles, and some rounds struck a nearby occupied home. Fortunately, no one inside the home was injured.
Later that same day, police responded to another shooting on Hillmont Road. There, 23-year-old Silas Wallace was found shot and later pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an investigation, warrants were issued for Robbins and Cherry. Both men were located and arrested in Greensboro by the U.S. Marshals Service. They are currently in custody, awaiting their first court appearance. As of now, bond information has not been released.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have not commented on potential motives or further suspects.
