In a significant drug bust, the Kannad city police of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar rural division seized 409 kilograms of ganja worth Rs1.22 crore from a farmhouse in Dabadi Shivara on Thursday, arresting five suspects linked to an interstate drug trafficking ring.
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Deputy Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Rathod raided the farmhouse. Along with the drugs, police also confiscated an SUV valued at Rs18 lakh, bringing the total seizure to ₹1.4 crore, according to investigating officers.
The arrested suspects were identified as:
Nasibkhan Sandekhan Pathan (42) – Kunjkheda, Kannad
Imran Liyakat Khan (38) – Khargone, Madhya Pradesh
Muqtiyar Musa Khan (45) – Khargone, Madhya Pradesh
Vijay Ramchandra Nahak (38) – Ganjam district, Odisha
Ramkrishna Harkit Nayak (32) – Ganjam district, Odisha
Police believe the group is part of a well-organized supply chain involved in interstate drug distribution. “This is not an isolated case. The suspects have established links across multiple states for the storage and delivery of narcotics,” said a senior officer.
Further investigation is underway to identify the full extent of the network and additional accomplices.
