A Nashua man, Adam Masseur, 36, was ordered held in jail following his arraignment Tuesday on multiple felony charges, including credit card fraud and possession of a stolen firearm.
The most serious charges relate to Masseur’s alleged use of a stolen credit card to withdraw funds on 18 occasions throughout April. Police reports state he withdrew over $6,000 in total from different locations between April 18 and April 27.
Earlier in June, officers pulled Masseur over on suspicion of motor vehicle violations. During the stop, a search warrant was obtained for a black lockbox found in his vehicle, where detectives discovered a 9mm handgun reported stolen from Osceola County, Florida.
Masseur’s Aug. 30 arrest added charges of four counts of credit card fraud and two counts of receiving stolen property.
Judge Amy Manchester ordered him held without bail pending a probable cause hearing scheduled for Sept. 9 in Nashua District Court. Masseur did not enter a plea during the arraignment.
The victim reported the missing credit card in early May after discovering her balance had dropped from approximately $7,860 to just $5 due to fraudulent charges. The suspicious transactions occurred near several banks and businesses, including Gate City Casino and Shell gas stations.
Masseur’s legal troubles include a 2022 domestic violence case where he pled guilty to stalking and criminal mischief. He was sentenced to two years in jail, deferred for good behavior, and ordered to pay restitution and undergo anger management and drug evaluations.
