Narol police have arrested two individuals in connection with a robbery and assault case, which was orchestrated through a dating application. The arrests were made within hours of the crime, while authorities are still working to track down a third accomplice.
The victim, identified as Rohit (name changed), reported that he had met the suspects through a dating app in the Narol area. Upon meeting in person, Rohit was allegedly assaulted with sticks, verbally abused, and threatened with the release of sensitive video content.
The suspects, Karan Sharma (20) and Vishal Tiwari (22), are accused of stealing two mobile phones and transferring Rs20,000 from Rohit’s account via UPI. Following the complaint, Narol police initiated an investigation and quickly tracked the suspects to Rangolinagar Bridge. A police team dispatched to the scene successfully apprehended Sharma and Tiwari.
However, the third suspect, Yuvraj Darbar, remains on the run. Authorities have launched a manhunt and are seeking information from the public to aid in his capture.
Both Sharma and Tiwari have prior criminal records. Sharma has been involved in several cases at Narol police station, including public endangerment and traffic violations. Tiwari faces charges of assault, criminal intimidation, and robbery, with prior cases filed at Narol and Anandnagar police stations.
The stolen items and cash have been recovered, and police are investigating whether the trio has committed other similar crimes. “Our team is working diligently to gather evidence and locate the third suspect. We urge the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities,” said Parimal Desai, Police Inspector of Narol Police Station.
