Satnampura police in Phagwara have arrested a youth for allegedly stealing construction materials from a residential site in Hardaspur village. The complaint was lodged by Binder Kumar, who reported the theft from his newly constructed house on the outer ring road of the village.

According to Phagwara SP Madhvi Sharma, the construction of the house was underway, with the first floor already completed. A few days earlier, the complainant had brought six bundles of steel reinforcement rods, weighing approximately six to seven quintals, and temporarily stored them outside the house.

On the night of January 4, 2026, Binder Kumar checked the site before leaving for his old residence. The next morning, he found the steel rods missing. CCTV footage from a nearby residence reportedly showed a vehicle with registration number PB-08-EF-4153, in which a youth was seen loading the rods and driving away.

Further investigation identified the accused as Narinder Kumar alias Laddi, a resident of Indana Kalan under Goraya police station. Based on the evidence, the police registered a case under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code and arrested the accused.

SP Sharma stated that investigations are ongoing to recover the stolen material and determine if the accused was involved in similar thefts elsewhere in the area.
