Paulding County, Ohio – Joseph Schlosser, a 26-year-old contractor from Napoleon, Ohio, was arrested on Saturday in Defiance on felony theft charges. The arrest was made by the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office, and Schlosser was later transferred to Paulding County custody.

The charges stem from an incident involving an elderly woman in Paulding County, who hired Schlosser in November 2024 to fix a floor leak in her home. She paid Schlosser around $3,000 for the repairs, but court documents reveal that Schlosser never started the work, and his company, Building with Faith Construction, is now filing for bankruptcy.

Schlosser was arrested on two fourth-degree felony theft charges, with the indictment and warrant filed on March 13. He posted bond of $2,500 and was released from custody on Monday.

Schlosser is also facing two additional theft charges in Henry County and a civil lawsuit in Lucas County. Additionally, he was found liable for over $230,000 in damages in Defiance County last week. Multiple individuals, including a former employee, have accused Schlosser of scamming them through his company.
