DELAWARE, Ohio (WSYX) — A Delaware man will spend more than 15 years behind bars after admitting to operating a large-scale drug trafficking operation.
Nandor Santho, 45, pleaded guilty to several serious charges, including Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity, Aggravated Possession of Drugs, Possession of a Fentanyl-Related Compound, and Trafficking in a Fentanyl-Related Compound. The charges range from first- to fifth-degree felonies.
Following the plea, Delaware County Common Pleas Court Judge Marianne T. Hemmeter sentenced Santho to a prison term of 15 to 21.5 years.
The Delaware Police Department, working in conjunction with the Delaware County Drug Task Force, led the investigation. Authorities say Santho was regularly trafficking large quantities of fentanyl and other drugs, amounting to thousands of dollars in illicit drug activity in the local community.
Officials praised the collaborative law enforcement effort and reiterated the importance of cracking down on the trafficking of dangerous substances like fentanyl, which continues to fuel the opioid crisis.
