JACKSON, Miss. — Nancy Anglada, former Inventory Control Director for Jackson County, was arrested Tuesday by Special Agents from the Mississippi Office of the State Auditor on charges of embezzlement and fraud, officials said.

State Auditor Shad White announced the arrest, alleging that Anglada used her position to obtain fraudulent reimbursements and misuse public resources for personal gain.

Investigators claim Anglada used a county-owned Fuelman card to purchase gasoline for her personal vehicle on multiple occasions. She is also accused of submitting fraudulent training reimbursement requests, falsely claiming she had paid for professional development sessions out of pocket.

“We will continue to have a zero-tolerance policy for theft of taxpayer dollars,” White said. “Our office will work with prosecutors to get record results for taxpayers.”

Potential Penalties

If convicted, Anglada could face:

Up to 20 years in prison

Fines of up to $5,000

As with all cases handled by the State Auditor’s office, Anglada is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The case will proceed under prosecution by local authorities in coordination with the Auditor’s office.
