by Ananya Mehta

In a recent crackdown on illegal drug distribution, Koodur Town Police in Nalgonda district arrested three youths for attempting to sell ganja near Durgapuram Cross Road.

The accused, Sheikh Saleem and Sai Kumar from Kapuguda village, and Sidhu from Koodur, were caught red-handed with ganja valued at approximately Rs5,000. The two from Kapuguda habitually smoked ganja rolled into cigarettes and purchased their supply from Sandeep, a migrant worker from Bihar employed at a local rice mill.

Sai Kumar and Sidhu planned to sell ganja in small packets for profit, buying half a kilogram from Sandeep and splitting it. The trio gathered near an orchard at Durgapuram Cross Road to sell the packets discreetly.

Police, acting on suspicious behavior, apprehended the three at the scene, while Sandeep escaped. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered, and investigations continue to trace the main supplier and other network connections.
