The Nabarangpur police have cracked the mysterious murder of a young woman in Kosagumuda, uncovering a chilling story of betrayal and premeditated murder linked to a love triangle.
The victim, who went missing Saturday night after stepping out of her house around 9 PM, was found unconscious just 200 meters from her home. Despite being rushed to Kosagumuda Community Health Centre, she was declared dead.
Superintendent of Police Madkar Sandeep Sampat formed a special investigation team headed by ASP Aditya Sen. The team, including officers from multiple police stations and supported by a dog squad and scientific team, quickly moved forward with the investigation.
Two suspects were detained, including the victim’s lover, Dineshwar Sarabu from Sunarisahi, Kosagumuda. Police revealed that Dineshwar was involved with another woman and was pressuring her for marriage — information unknown to the victim.
On August 2, Dineshwar lured the victim to a secluded area under the guise of a conversation. After a heated argument about his other relationship, he strangled her to death and fled.
Using call detail records (CDR), police tracked Dineshwar’s communication with the victim. During interrogation, he confessed. Police conducted a scene reconstruction and recovered his mobile phone along with the victim’s broken handset.
ASP Aditya Sen confirmed the investigation is ongoing under SP supervision.
