Mysuru: The menace of narcotics continues to plague Mysuru city, with police stepping up operations against drug trafficking networks. In a recent raid on Monday, Mysuru police seized 103 grams of MDMA valued at Rs10.30 lakh and arrested four individuals within the Mandi police station limits.
The accused have been identified as Jiawulla, Javed Ahmed, Sohel, and Nuyed. Acting on specific intelligence, authorities apprehended them while they were allegedly attempting to distribute the contraband.
Officials revealed that the group was part of a larger network involved in procuring and distributing synthetic drugs in and around Mysuru. Along with the MDMA, police seized an Innova car, believed to be used for transporting the narcotics, and five mobile phones, which may provide critical leads for further investigation.
The crackdown comes amid rising concerns over drug abuse in the city. Police have intensified surveillance and operations following reports of increased trafficking activity. Authorities stated that sustained efforts will continue to dismantle supply chains and identify both peddlers and consumers.
A case has been registered at Mandi police station, and investigators are tracing the source of the MDMA and possible interstate links. Digital evidence from the recovered phones is also being examined to identify additional members of the network.
Officials emphasized their commitment to curbing the drug menace and urged citizens to report suspicious activities to help maintain public safety.
