NKASEIM, Ghana — The Ghana Police Service has arrested five suspects in connection with a coordinated robbery attack that occurred in December 2025 at Nkaseim in the Ahafo Region.

Police said the attack took place on December 2, 2025, when the suspects and their accomplices, armed with weapons, blocked the Goaso–Tepa road and launched simultaneous attacks on multiple locations. The targets included the Nkaseim Police Station, Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company, Kobby Gold Buying Company, and the Asutifi Rural Bank area.

During the robbery, the attackers allegedly stole two AK47 rifles from the police station, an undisclosed amount of cash from the bank, GH¢14,000 from the cocoa buying company, and GH¢12,000 from the gold buying company. An employee of the Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company was shot and injured in the process.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, February 1, police said sustained intelligence gathering and forensic investigations led to the arrest of 35-year-old Mutar Kofi, a commercial tricycle rider, on January 16, 2026, at a location known as “Ata ne Ata” near Nkaseim. Police said Kofi admitted his involvement in the robbery.

Further investigations resulted in the arrest of four additional suspects: 45-year-old Mahamadu Sagio, arrested at Nkaseim; 28-year-old Shaibu Issah Jallo, also known as Jibo, arrested at Chereponi; 40-year-old Abdul Suleman, arrested at Tanga near Karaga in the Northern Region; and 25-year-old Bukari Sulley, also known as Tailor, a trader at Alaba in Kumasi, who was arrested on January 25, 2026.

Police said efforts have been intensified to arrest three remaining suspects identified as Dauda, Mohammed Ali, and Hoyeefi, who is believed to be the gang leader and in possession of the stolen rifles and other firearms used in the attack.

The Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to apprehending all remaining suspects to face the full rigors of the law.
