The Khatu Shyamji Sadar police have successfully solved the murder of retired soldier Gheesalal Sharma (51), who was brutally killed on the night of March 7 in Likhma ka Bas village, Sikar district. Four individuals, including the main accused, Amit Kumar Mishra (24), have been arrested in connection with the crime.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav confirmed that the investigation revealed Amit Mishra had targeted Sharma due to the belief that he possessed a large sum of money. Driven by greed, Mishra initially attempted to murder Sharma but was unsuccessful. Later, he enlisted three accomplices from Uttar Pradesh to carry out the crime.
The arrested accomplices include Anuj Mishra (19) from Bela Sarai Gaja, Vidhur Pandit (26) from Dhai village, and Abhay (22) from Manjasarifpur. During police interrogation, the suspects admitted to breaking into Sharma’s house on the night of the murder. They confessed to killing him with a sharp weapon during an attempted robbery.
Police reports indicate that this was not the first time Amit Mishra had plotted to kill Sharma. Despite an earlier failed attempt, he was determined to follow through with his plans. All four suspects are now in custody, and further interrogation is underway to gather more details about their involvement in the crime.
