The Muniguda Police cracked a high-profile theft case at a vacant residence in Munikhol village, reported on September 26, recovering gold, silver, and cash.
Investigation and Arrests
Following a written complaint, SDPO Santosini Oram instructed IIC Saudamini Behera, SI Bikash Debnath, and ASI Jayachandra Sahu to launch an investigation.
The team tracked multiple leads and arrested six suspects:
Ajay Bag – Chandili
Sajit Karakaria – Chandili
Pramod Suna – Muniguda
Arman Bhatra – Muniguda
Pintu Takri – Muniguda
Bhupendra Suna – Muniguda
Recovery
Cash: Rs8,000
Gold jewellery: gold chain
Silver ornaments: anklets
Other stolen items were also recovered.
Ajay Bag had pledged the stolen gold at Indel Money, Rayagada, for a Rs3 lakh loan, transferring the funds to Bhupendra Suna’s account, which helped police track them.
Legal Action
The case was registered under Muniguda PS Case No. 193/25.
All accused were produced in court following the investigation.
SDPO Santosini Oram described the arrests and recoveries as a major breakthrough.
