Mumbai Police Seize Fake Notes Worth Rs 1 Lakh, Four Arrested

Four men arrested for counterfeiting Rs 500 notes in Byculla

On Sunday, the Mumbai Police seized counterfeit currency with a face value of Rs 1 lakh and arrested four individuals involved in the illegal operation.

The police initially recovered 200 fake Rs 500 notes from the Byculla area in south Mumbai and arrested three suspects: Umran Balbale (48), Yasin Shaikh (42), and Bheem Badela (45).

Further investigation led to the recovery of laptops, printers, lamination machines, and other materials believed to be used in the production of the counterfeit notes. These items were seized from the fourth suspect, Niraj Vekhande (25), in Palghar district.

The authorities are continuing to investigate the operation, which involved printing fake currency notes for distribution in Mumbai and surrounding areas.
