Mumbai Police arrested Roshan Bhaskar Dudwadkar, a key suspect in a large-scale human trafficking operation, at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Alongside his accomplice Rajesh Panchal, Dudwadkar illegally facilitated the migration of 80 Indian citizens to countries like Canada, the Netherlands, Turkey, and Poland using forged travel documents.
On February 28, the Foreign Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) alerted Mumbai police regarding Dudwadkar’s suspicious activities. The police, led by Senior Inspector Milind Kathe, detained Dudwadkar at the airport. Dudwadkar, a 50-year-old passport agent from Andheri (East), played a central role in the operation.
Investigations revealed that Rajesh Panchal was behind the creation of forged passports and visas. The duo charged exorbitant fees ranging from Rs 30 to Rs 50 lakh per passenger. They ensured smooth clearance at the airport by presenting counterfeit documents and accompanying the passengers.
Dudwadkar reportedly earned Rs 50,000 per passenger, exploiting immigration system loopholes since June 2023. The authorities are continuing their investigation into the operation.
