The Aarey Police have arrested 28-year-old Brijesh Kumar Rekovar alias Tiger, a web series actor, in connection with the theft of a Tata Tempo reported on January 18.
How the Theft Unfolded
CCTV footage showed the stolen vehicle moving through Goregaon and crossing the Thane toll naka. At the time of the theft, the accused was seen wearing red clothes, which helped police identify and track him.
Brijesh, who had come to Mumbai a few years ago for work and was driving vehicles for the past four months, allegedly stole the Tempo to arrange funds for his sister’s wedding.
Arrest and Recovery
After stealing the vehicle, Brijesh drove it to Nashik and parked it near the railway station, hoping to sell it. Technical evidence and CCTV analysis helped the Aarey Police trace and arrest him from Santosh Nagar in Dindoshi.
Police said further investigation is ongoing to determine if he had any accomplices or other criminal activity.
