The Saifabad police arrested two men from Mumbai near Nampally Railway Station on Thursday for their alleged involvement in a high-value jewellery theft at a Basheerbagh shop. Authorities recovered 173 pieces of gold and diamond-studded jewellery, weighing around 850 grams and valued at approximately Rs1.5 crore.

The accused were identified as Chadawa Ronak, 24, a marketing executive with Shanaya Diamond Jewellery Pvt. Ltd., and Mohd Hasnain Habiya, 22, a student.

DCP of Central Zone, K. Shilpavalli, stated that both individuals faced financial difficulties after suffering significant losses in IPL betting. Investigations revealed that Ronak allegedly planned the theft after joining Shanaya Diamonds in April, recruiting Hasnain to assist in executing the crime.

Police are continuing their probe to determine whether others were involved in the operation and to recover any remaining stolen assets.
