In a significant breakthrough, Ghaziabad Police arrested six suspects on Wednesday night in connection with the Rs38 lakh robbery that took place earlier this week near Hindon Pushta Road in Vasundhara.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mukul Singh (24), Nitesh Kumar (25), Surendra Kumar (24), Akash Kumar (22), Vivek Singh (20), and Vishal Singh (24). According to police officials, the accused were part of a carefully orchestrated plan to loot shopkeeper Pravesh Bishnoi, who was carrying a large sum of cash on his scooter.

Mukul Singh and Nitesh Kumar, both employees at Bishnoi’s Vaishali-based shop, allegedly tipped off their accomplices about the money being transported. Acting on this information, Surendra, Akash, and a man named Sachin (currently absconding) carried out the robbery while others, including Vishal Singh, helped with logistics and escape routes.

“The group assembled after the robbery at Vishal’s residence in Habibpur, Noida, where they divided the looted money before going into hiding,” said ACP Abhishek Srivastava (Indirapuram circle).

Police traced the suspects through mobile phone locations, CCTV footage, and technical inputs. Investigators believe around 10 people were involved in the planning and execution of the crime.

Efforts are ongoing to apprehend remaining suspects, including Sachin, and recover the stolen cash.
