A shocking double homicide in Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar-I area has led to the arrest of 24-year-old Mukesh Paswan, who brutally murdered his employer’s wife and her teenage son at their Block F residence.

The victims, 42-year-old Ruchika Sewani and her 14-year-old son Krish, were found with fatal throat injuries, horrifying both the local community and investigators.

Paswan, who worked as an assistant at a garment shop owned by Ruchika’s husband Kuldeep Sewani, was taken into custody following the killings. During interrogation, he confessed to the murders, citing humiliation from a confrontation with Ruchika over his recent absence from work.

The gruesome crime scene showed blood evidence throughout the home. Investigators found Ruchika’s body near the bedroom bed, while Krish was discovered deceased in the bathroom, both suffering fatal throat wounds.

Police reports state Paswan entered the Sewani residence around 7:30 PM on Wednesday evening while Kuldeep was away. Surveillance footage confirmed his entry. He allegedly attacked Ruchika first around 8 PM; Krish witnessed the attack and attempted to hide but was killed shortly after.

Kuldeep returned at about 9:30 PM, noticing blood stains and discovering the tragedy when Ruchika didn’t respond. The couple’s elder daughter, Kritika, who studies in Jammu, traveled to Delhi upon hearing the news.

Paswan was apprehended at 6 PM Thursday evening at the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay junction in Mughalsarai, Uttar Pradesh, while trying to flee to Bihar by train.

He admitted that the confrontation stemmed from Ruchika reprimanding him for not attending work for over a week, despite receiving a Rs40,000 advance and a mobile phone from the family. She demanded he resume work or return the money and phone.

The investigation continues, with forensic experts examining a knife found at the residence to confirm if it was the murder weapon. This tragic incident has raised alarms about how workplace disputes can escalate to deadly violence.
