The Jaipur Crime Branch on Thursday arrested six members of an organized cyber fraud syndicate that allegedly helped route money through Indian bank accounts rented out to Chinese nationals via encrypted messaging apps.
According to DCP (Crime) Kundan Kanwaria, the arrested individuals include the gang leader Mukesh Pareek (alias Sanchit), along with Pooja Singh (alias Neetu Singh, alias Priya), Mahzoor Ahmed Khan, Shailendra (alias Suraj, alias Bharat), Ankit (alias Honey), and Rohitash Swami (alias Rohit, alias David).
The group was operating from a hotel in Narayan Vihar, Mansarovar, and was caught after a tip-off led to a coordinated raid by the Cyber Surveillance Team (CST) and Mansarovar police. The arrests were conducted under the supervision of Additional DCP (Organised Crime) Richpal Singh and Inspector Shravan Kumar.
Authorities seized 11 mobile phones, a laptop, and two bank cheque books during the operation. The gang has been linked to fraudulent financial transactions worth over Rs17 lakh, with indications that they were connected to international cybercrime networks, particularly those based in China.
The syndicate operated through a multi-layered scheme:
Mukesh Pareek, originally from Hisar, Haryana, acted as a middleman between Indian locals and Chinese handlers.
The gang would buy Indian bank accounts from locals at a 2–2.5% commission, then resell them via Telegram at 4–5% commission to the foreign operators running illegal online trading and gaming apps.
A case has been registered at Mansarovar police station under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the IT Act. Further investigations are ongoing to uncover deeper links and prevent such cross-border digital frauds.
